Project Lifesaver Supports Families
We provide a free transmitter to those that need services but are financially unable to afford the cost of the tracking bracelet. Our "Family Grant" program through the Project Lifesaver Foundation, has provided the equipment to families free of charge.
When we enroll families into Project Lifesaver, they become our family and our mission.

We visit every family each month. We are a pro-active "rescue management" team, ready at a moments notice to respond to any search incident for their loved one. We have responded to over 1,675 actual emergency searches nationwide and have successfully located persons with a 100% success rate in an average time of less than 30 minutes. We also respond to the families anytime we receive a call, 24hr/day 7 days/week. We provide families much needed "peace of mind".

Project Lifesaver Provides Training to Public Safety Agencies

We train Sheriff's, Police, Fire and Search and Rescue "First Responders" about disease symptoms, communication techniques, behavior management strategies and the best approach and intervention methods. We train special search and rescue techniques, air tracking and search management. We have an active web based "Client Management System" program that any Project Lifesaver agency has access to. We support all agencies with dynamic training, annual educational conferences and employ an aggressive "Research and Development" committee. ALL Project Lifesaver training programs are accredited by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services.

SAVING LIVES SINCE 1999
Our History

We enrolled the first person in Project Lifesaver in April of 1999 in Chesapeake Virginia. We are now in 41 states and Canada in over 550 public safety agencies and growing rapidly.
Project Lifesaver is spreading from community to community across the United States and is becoming one of the fastest growing public safety measures today and the most successful missing persons rescue program ever introduced.
With Alzheimer's disease expected to triple by mid-century, the number of families and communities experiencing the risk of wandering is growing dramatically. Incidence of other diseases that put individuals at risk for wandering are also on the rise: Autism occurs in one to two of every 500 births in the U.S. and is the third most common developmental disability following mental retardation and cerebral palsy. About 5,000 children are born with Down syndrome each year in the U.S.
